Single tow bar for AL-KO brake cables for a single-axle trailer
Single tow bar for AL-KO brake cables for a single-axle trailer
The AL-KO 1730379 braking system lever is designed for single-axle trailers equipped with the AL-KO braking system . Its function is to evenly distribute the braking force from the overrun device to the left and right brake cables. This ensures stable trailer braking and better balance of pressure on both wheels.
The element is mounted under the trailer chassis , between the overrun device and the braked axle. On the drawbar side, it interacts with the brake linkage, while on the other side, it connects to the cables leading to the wheel brakes. The swinging design of the towbar helps compensate for slight differences in cable length or tension, which affects the smooth operation of the braking system .
The AL-KO brake lever is made of galvanized steel, providing resistance to moisture, mud, road salt, and other conditions encountered during trailer operation. This small but crucial component of the braking system should be inspected and replaced if it shows signs of corrosion, warping, excessive wear, or problems with consistent braking.
Key features and design:
- uniform braking: thanks to its oscillating design, the tow bar compensates for minimal differences in the length or tension of the cables, which prevents the trailer from drifting during braking and ensures driving stability.
- original AL-KO quality: made of high-quality steel, it guarantees full resistance to high mechanical loads occurring during emergency braking.
- anti-corrosion protection: the element has been galvanized, which provides long-lasting protection against moisture, mud and road salt.
- simple design: the design allows for quick assembly of the main link (from the overrun device) and easy connection of the ends of the two brake lines going to the wheels
- road safety: ensures equal tension of both cables, which prevents the trailer from slipping when braking.
