The 251 S overrun device from AL-KO is a versatile solution designed for trailers and trailers braked with a "V" type drawbar, with a total weight from 1500 kg to 2700 kg. It is characterized by a maximum permissible vertical load of 120 kg, which ensures optimal load distribution between the trailer and the towing vehicle. The 251 S device is equipped with an AK 270 ball hitch, which ensures a stable connection to the vehicle. and is compatible with the AL-KO 1637/2051 braking mechanism. Additionally, the overrun brake has a three-range return lever, which makes it easier to operate and adjust.
The overrun device is an advanced solution that significantly improves the safety and comfort of driving with a trailer or tow truck. Thanks to its use, it is possible to shorten the stopping distance and maintain a stable driving track when braking the set. The device automatically brakes the towed vehicle, cooperating with the car's braking system, which supports its operation and affects the smoothness of traffic. Using the overrun device not only increases road safety, but also contributes to reducing the wear of the braking system in the towing vehicle. Additionally, this device is also extremely functional when stationary, enabling effective blocking of the vehicle from rolling forwards or backwards.
The device offers two mounting options: on the top or bottom of the drawbar, providing flexibility in adapting to different trailer designs. However, it should be noted that when mounted bottom, the maximum permissible drawbar height is 100 mm. This mounting versatility allows for optimisation of weight distribution, adaptation to different trailer designs and adaptation to specific application requirements, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the device in a variety of applications.

The hitch has a Soft-Dock cover that protects the rear of the vehicle from scratches and the user's legs from impacts during maneuvering. Additionally, the hitch is equipped with advanced safety systems: a hitch wear indicator, informing about the need to replace elements, a correct coupling indicator, ensuring the certainty of a correct connection, and protection against incorrect coupling, eliminating the risk of accidental disconnection while driving.
Anti-corrosion protection
The drive-on device with a hot-dip galvanized steel housing uses advanced anti-corrosion protection technology. The galvanizing process creates a durable coating on the entire surface of the element, effectively protecting against rust, corrosion and mechanical damage.
